In chapter 4, Why does Gatsby buy his mansion? Why does Gatsby want Nick to invite Daisy over to his house even though Gatsby has his own impressive home? How long has Gatsby waited to meet Daisy again?
He buys the mansion so he could see Daisy's house from his own, to show off his mansion, but kind of in a coincidence kind of way if you know what I mean?
Gatsby wants to have Nick invite Daisy to his house so it will seem like an innocent visit. It will be easier to lure her into her cousin's home, rather than Gatsby's.
Gatsby buys the mansion he bought so he could see Daisy's house from the view of his home.
